Six Degrees of Separation...who do you 'almost' know?

I have always been fascinated by this idea.

You count the number of people who are between you and someone famous....or infamous for that matter.

It's a kind of "I know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who worked for someone notable and therefore knew them" kinda idea.

So here's mine:

My first cousin, lived across the road from Rick Springfield (he sings that song 'Jessies Girl')...so there is only one degree of separation between me and Rick Springfield.

My French friends father, was a senior official in the French Police Force and was first on the scene of the accident that claimed the life of the Princess of Wales. So there are only three degrees of separation between me and the Royal Family.

A good friend of my husband was a lifelong friend in his younger days, with the guy that groomed the Queens horses at Windsor Castle, so another four degrees of separation between us and Her Majesty. He actually met the Queen on one memorable occasion.

DD's friend at Ballet, has a friend at school. This friends mother, dated Hugh Jackman when they were just 14. So five degrees of separation between us and Hugh Jackman.

In my teens, when Brisbane was a small place, I managed to meet Michael Jackson and the other Jacksons, Paul McCartney, Freddie Mercury/Brian May/Roger Taylor from Queen, Alice Cooper, The Osmond family, many many Aussie musicians and bands. So no degrees of separation there.

My husbands best friends parents, were caretakers for the Holmes a Court families' holiday home. So three there as well.

How many degrees of separation between you and someone notable?
