Mmmmm... Powdered Sugar....

Posted October 5th, 2010 by Rob Bob : )»

I am going to be making some Brownies this afternoon & thought it would be nice to dust them with some Icing sugar but found the jar to be empty.... I made up another jar full while DD#1 made us a batch of Melt & Mix Bananananana Muffins...

It is really easy to make as all I do is just "wizzz" up 3/4 of a cup of white sugar at a time until it reaches the right consistence... A little Bullet blender or Mini Food processor are great for this job.... I do find there is always a few grains remain but they are easy enough to Sieve out if desired...

According to http://grocery.bestpricedirectory.com.au ,

Home brand White Sugar works out at .88c per KG when bought in 3kg bag...

Icing sugar (not mixture) works out at $2-3 per KG.... Not a huge saving but still a saving....
I find it a fun , if slightly messy, activity to do with the girls.. It gets them involved in the kitchen & teaches them to be more self sufficient...

We also have had a few Baby's sprout in the garden & DD#2 has been out taking pictures of all the flowers that are in bloom at the moment...

Above are a Broccoli we are going to try & save some seeds from & some Beautiful Roi De Carouby Snowpea flowers...

There are a few more Pics at

Have a great one all....
