Mr Patel - World Famous in NZ!

Posted April 2nd, 2012 by Penny Wise

I couldn't resist sharing this with you! Those of you who have been familiar with my blog for more than the last couple of years may remember Mr Patel, the owner of the Four Square store in Te Kauwhata, where we used to live. It's basically a mini supermarket with a Lotto outlet thrown in for good measure. Anyway, Te Kauwhata and Mr Patel became world famous in NZ on Saturday night, when it was announced that one of the biggest winning Lotto tickets in history had been purchased from his shop. Somebody in our tiny old home town is now $26.5 million richer! Wow! Nobody still has a clue who the winner is but speculation is rife and the town's residents, as well as Mr and Mrs Patel and all the Patel Juniors have been all over the radio and television. They are so excited, it's just lovely to see, so for all the people who have read about Mr Patel in the past, I thought you would like to see him captured for posterity on video! Just click on his photo to watch it :-)

Good on ya Mr P! I wouldn't even buy a Lotto ticket once a year, but I may just have to stop by next time I'm passing through!
