Salvatores Cafe Corner Knuckey & Smith St, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

The staff at this great little cafe in Darwin city know their stuff, and they certainly know how to make a great coffee. The food is brilliant, the staff are all friendly, helpful AND know about the products they sell - they've tried it all so they can tell you what their favourite is, or what that delicious looking chocolate slice tastes like.

Even the chefs are willing to come to chat to customers! Sean, the owner, is friendly and entertaining, and the baristas are all super friendly, lovely girls, and they remember customers names - all of which makes Salvatores my favourite cafe in Darwin.

They are open every day except Christmas, from 7am -10pm, 7 days per week. All menu items are available for take-away and although the food is great, the coffee is brilliant.

One reason that Darwin locals love Salvatores so much is that they offer a discount for environmentally aware customers - simply by bringing a mug from home (or a fabulous reusable thermos like the 'Cheeki' brand thermos that vacuum seals) instead of paying $4.50 for a takeaway latte or hot chocolate, you only pay $3!!

Even with a small outlay for my gorgeous little Thermos (approx $20), I've managed to save a huge amount - saving $1.50 per day x 5 days a week = over $300 a year... and I've been doing this with friends for over four years - a small easy change that gives me more change!! :)
