Eat your way to lovely, strong nails with blancmange!
If biting your nails is a problem, start growing them from the inside out, with this easy coffee blancmange recipe! All you need is:
One x 400g can coconut milk or cream. 2 tbsp gelatin 2 tsp coffee 1/4 cup hot water Sweetener of your choice, e.g. sugar, stevia or artificial sweetener
Stir the gelatin into the hot water and mix well.
In a separate bowl, put in the coffee and sweetener of your choice and stir, then tip in the can of coconut milk or cream. Pour in the hot gelatin mixture and stir all together well. Refrigerate for one hour.
The result? Delicious, smooth coffee blancmange, with the health benefits of coconut, and gelatin for nail growth!

To stop biting nails for once and for all, try bitter nail polish. There are a few brands that can easily be purchased in Australia. I’m not a nail biter myself but I worked with someone who used it. The polish tasted so awful so she simply stopped putting them in her mouth and eventually the habit was broken! Check out these links for more information on available products:

$21 Challenge saves $150 in a week
As a new member, I have saved $150 in my first week, thanks to the $21 Challenge! I thought I was careful with money until I discovered this site and realised how I could further improve my spending habits. I decided to give the $21 Challenge a go and it is now Thursday and I haven't been to the shops yet!
I have become a problem solver due to the fact that I must use what is in the fridge/freezer and pantry. I nearly buckled when my four year old wanted 'pink milk' and I had run out of Nestle Quick but no problem in the end. I found some rose pink food colouring and with just one drop - presto, pink milk! It does take some preparation because you are cooking from scratch but it is all worth it when your family tells you that the dinner you made tonight was the best, and is there any more?
My other dilemma was to use the three zucchinis in the crisper, so I made them into a slice. It was so easy to make and I had every ingredient on hand without even trying!
Zucchini Slice (serves 4-6)
3 zucchini (grated)
1 onion (grated)
1 potato (grated)
4 slices of ham/bacon (chopped)
1 cup of cheese (grated)
6 tablespoons flour (plain)
3 eggs
salt/pepper
Put all ingredients into a big bowl and mix really well. Pour into a quiche dish and cook in the oven for one hour at 160C. If you are vegetarian, simply leave out the ham. Simple, delicious and super cheap!

I have devised a simple savings plan which you can use to fund a holiday, new furniture, Christmas or extra payments on the mortgage.
By saving just one dollar in week one, and adding an extra dollar each week after that, you will save $1378 in one year! It is a really gentle way to start saving, perfect if you feel you don’t have any spare money to save.
In week one, save $1.00. In week two, save $2.00. Week three, save $3.00...and so on! By week 52, when you save $52, you will end up with your grand total.
When the 52 weeks are up, you can start the cycle again with just $1.00, or if you're really ambitious you can continue with your saving plan; if you keep doing it for another 52 weeks, you'll have saved $5046! What a saving! If that’s too much of a stretch, and you start again at only $1.00, you will still have saved $2756 in two years. Happy saving!
